Our Beliefs

God reveals himself in many ways, but specifically in the Bible, the inspired Word of God. In the Bible we learn of what God has done, is doing, and will do to restore and to maintain a relationship with us. 2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Pet 1:20-21

The Bible reveals to us that . . .

God created all things, exists as one God in three Persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and longs for a personal relationship with every person. Acts 17:24-28

Because of their sin, all people have been separated from God who is holy and perfect. Romans 3:23; 5:12

Yet, God loved us so much that he provided a solution to our sin—his own Son, Jesus—who died for our sins so we could be reunited with him. Romans 5:6-11; 2 Corinthians 5:21; Ephesians 2:1-10; John 3:16

We are reunited with God when we believe in Jesus, which involves repentance (turning toward God), being baptized into Jesus’ death (submitting our lives to God), and being raised up by God to live a new life in Christ. Acts 2:38; Romans 6:3-14; Galatians 2:20

God lives in every believer through his Holy Spirit who assures us of salvation, guides us into God’s truth, and empowers us to live a new life for Jesus. Acts 2:38; Ephesians 3:14-21

Believers form the church, the body of Christ and family of God, which functions to represent Christ to the world, to reach unbelievers for Christ, and to help believers mature in Christ. Acts 2:42-47; Ephesians 1:22-23; 2:19-22

Someday Jesus will return, at which time the devil and his followers will be banished to hell forever and all believers will live with God in heaven for eternity. 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; Revelation 21:6-8
